Mixing again
Mixing this week for Nate Sabin on a record he's producing for the husband / wife duo After The Chase from San Diego. They have a very cool acoustic-pop sound.

Earlier this week I had an intern at a major studio nearby remove a MASTER audio drive that was giving us some problems from our control room and re-format it without asking or being told to by anyone. We ended up losing 2 days worth of tracking since our backups were corrupt too. It was that kind of week....

I have a rare opening in mid-October. If you read this and have a project in the works, get in touch. I'll make you a flippin' sweet deal!!

The Dynamites do Europe - wish I could be there! They are playing some shows with the Dap-Kings (Amy Winehouse's band) and will blow them off the stage!

Here's a great review of Isa Couvertier's "Raw Sessions" album that I produced with her at my studio in July. It is a really simple record that showcases her voice in a nice way. It's nice to see the reviewer pick up on that - sounds like she may have actually listened to it!

I just finished up some really great tracking with Nate Sabin over at the Sound Kitchen. We usually like to camp out at Darkhorse when we work, but political turmoil there necessitated a change of venue. I haven't worked at the Sound Kitchen in quite some time, but we had a great experience in Studio E and got some great tracks!

I'm finishing up some mixes for Lanae' Hale that we recorded up in Winthrop, WA. Her voice and her songs are really, really great. Next week, I'll be mixing a record for a group from San Diego called After The Chase. Sabin produced it, and we recorded it back in June, but we're just now getting to the mix - Nate's a fast mover!!!

Stay tuned for more....

Back in the Nash
I'm back in Nash-Vegas after almost 3 weeks in the Northwest working with a band called Downhere and a solo artist named Lanae' Hale at Eaglemount Studio. This place is a fantasy land with moutnain / valley views, hot tub / sauna, a chef, and fly-fishing! I would usually hit the river from 6 to 10am for some fishing, work from 11 to 9, and then hit the hot tub for a bit before crawling into my king-size bed... Wow, tough gig!

I'm back in the studio with Nate Sabin finishing some tracking for Brian Bates, and then I'll mix Lanae's stuff that we recorded up in Washington.

Here's some shots of the Downhere recording -

Stay tuned,

The Northwest
For a little over 2 weeks, I have been working up in the Northwest, near Seattle. The weather has been perfect, the fishing outstanding, and the recording magnificent! Here's a view from our studio...
