Very Important Backup and Archival policies regarding your project
Every effort will be made to ensure that your data is safe, and stored in at least 2 places as we work in my studio. I take that very seriously. One version will remain in native format on my online (master) drive, the other in Retrospect format on an off-line (safety) drive. However, I cannot be solely responsible for your data. Do not send me the only copy of your data. Please make a backup of your own at your studio or home before you send it out!
*****PLEASE NOTE: I cannot be responsible for long-term archiving of your project.
Please provide me with a FWHD that I can copy your final project files and 24bit stereo master mixes onto. This will be considered the final archive master.
Copies to CD-R, DVD-R, or AIT and/or file consolidation & conversion will be billed at normal studio rate, and are not included in any project rates or quotes.
Once you have received your final archive master on a FWHD (after mixing and/or project completion), I would urge you to back that up on at least 1 other drive or another format (DVD, CD, AIT, LTO, etc.) for long-term storage. Long-term storage will be your responsibility.
Your project will not remain on my drives forever after we finish!
Please be careful with your data - digital data does not exist unless it exists in two or three places!
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask!
Thanks, Todd Robbins (toddro@mac.com)
